About the course

Grittleton-grounds
  • Young Grittleton is a chamber music course designed for string players aged between 11 and 18.
  • Two, six day courses take place at St Mary’s School, Calne, Wiltshire.
  • All musicians receive chamber music coaching in small ensembles and rehearse and perform together as a string orchestra.
  • The course culminates with an informal concert on the final day.
  • Ensembles are arranged based on age, standard and experience. 

Accommodation and Pastoral care:

Grittleton-living-room

Students stay in St Cecilia’s House, a stone built 18th century building with high ceilings and a feeling of airiness. It comprises dorms of differing sizes; some are three bed dorms with largest being a six bed dorm.

During breaks, students have access to a range of school facilities including swimming pool, tennis courts and football pitches.

A. Grade 5 standard and above.

Fees
